Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras lived this Monday the first day of the closing of the International Bridge One, which due to the coronavirus emergency now works from 7 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon.
As announced, Bridge One that connects Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras reduced its hours of operation and as of 3 in the afternoon the cyclonic mesh gate was closed and no one could pass in any way.
The new temporary schedule will be from 7 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon when until Sunday it closed at 11 at night.
International Bridge Two operates normally 24 hours.
The Customs and Border Protection department disclosed that other international bridges on the Texas-Mexico border also reduced their hours.
Customs authorities reported that the impact of COVID-19 has affected cross-border activity and a significant decrease in vehicular traffic has been seen as travelers have adapted to the new rules.
