After leading the actions on Friday and placing himself in the second position on Saturday, Mexican professional golf player Abraham Ancer finishes his participation in the Augusta Masters with a historic position 13, the best for a Mexican in the maximum golf tournament in the world.

Sadly, Abraham Ancer seized the lead during the second round at 9 under par to become the first Mexican ever in history to lead the PGA’s biggest tournament. At the end of the second day of competition, Ancer tied for the lead with Cameron Smith, Justin Thomas, and Dustin Johnson.

By the third round, Ancer stayed in the struggle. After adding 12 strokes under par, the Mexican settled in second place only behind number one player in the world Dustin Johnson, ultimately, holder of the tournament’s green jacket.

But on Sunday, things got complicated for the Mexican. He shot 76 (+4) and finished with -8 his first participation in the Augusta Masters to end up in 13th place, the best position for a Mexican golfer in the history of the competition.

As we mentioned, the winner of the Augusta Masters was Dustin Johnson who set a record 20-strokes under par, eliminating the 1997 Tiger Woods mark.
