In a new survey conducted by El Financiero, citizen approval of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador fell eight percentage points, from January to February of this year, going from 71 to 63 percent.

This is the lowest level of support that citizens grant to the federal president since he took office in December 2018, according to the series of national surveys conducted by El Financiero.

In turn, the negative opinion on government performance registered increases of between five and 17 percentage points in the areas of management of the economy, public safety, health, corruption, and poverty.

According to the survey, for the first time, the positive image of the morning conferences fell below 50 percent, as the percentage that has a good or very good opinion about these in the month of February communication exercises

According to the El Financiero survey, 82 percent of respondents rated the way in which López Obrador’s government is dealing with the issue of femicide and violence against women as bad or very bad; in contrast, only 9 percent rated it as good or very good.
