‘Night of the Stars’ at the Morelense Center for Science Communication

CUERNAVACA, MORELOS.-  The Ministry of Economic Development and Labor, through the Council of Science and Technology of the State of Morelos and the Morelense Center for Science Communication (CeMoCC), will carry out the ‘Night of the Stars’ tonight, Saturday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the San Miguel Acapantzingo Ecological Park.  

The family meeting will provide a space to approach astronomy and its scientific dissemination for boys and girls, parents, and the general public, who will be able to enjoy the evening in the Park. It is worth mentioning that “The Night of the Stars” will take place by taking all the necessary health measures in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Face mask is mandatory.

According to the current health protocol, the temperature will be taken before accessing, as well as the application of antibacterial gel, the footwear will be disinfected, the healthy distance will be respected and the use of face masks will be mandatory to enter the park.

In the event, access to children under eight years of age, pregnant women and senior citizens will be restricted. The event will take place outdoors, with a maximum capacity of 100 people and prior registration on the Facebook page of the Morelos Science Museum. 

In addition, the ‘My Spatial Suit’ contest will be held for the children of Morelos, where girls and boys will bring their suit, made with at least 70 percent from recycled materials, it must include a helmet, suit, and boots. Each child will explain the elaboration of their own outfit before a qualifying jury.

The following institutions will participate in the program: UAEM Institute of Astronomy, Cultivando Semillas, Anonymous Scientific Collectives, Stratford College, Institute of Physical Sciences, Morelos Espacio. There will be different activities such as workshops, conferences, Casa de la Tierra, Planetarium, telescopes, music, and dance.
