For fifth consecutive year, Grupo Bimbo is one of the most ethical companies in the world

Bimbo is the only Mexican company to be included in the list of the most ethical companies in the world for five consecutive years.

Grupo Bimbo was recognized for the fifth consecutive year as one of the most ethical companies in the world, according to the 2021 list prepared by The Ethisphere Institute.

This ranking highlights companies that consider ethical commitment to be one of the guiding principles in their day-to-day operations. With this, the world’s leading bakery confirms its commitment to the best global practices.

The list of The World’s Most Ethical Companies is governed by the Ethics Quotient, a classification system patented by The Ethisphere Institute that evaluates the information of each of the companies in five key indicators with different degrees of relevance:

Regulatory compliance, an aspect that is most important, since it represents 35% of the total score.
Social responsibility, 20%.
Ethical culture, 20%.
Corporate governance, which represents 15%.
And leadership, innovation and reputation, which contributes 10% of the total score.

“As we tackle the tough challenges of 2020, we saw companies lead, above all other institutions, in stakeholder trust through resilience and a commitment to ethics and integrity,” shares Timothy Erblich, CEO from Ethisphere.

“Recognition of the world’s most ethical companies continues to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to the highest values and to positively impact the communities they serve. Congratulations to Grupo Bimbo for being included in this list for five consecutive years, which undoubtedly shows that its performance is governed day by day under the highest standards of ethics and compliance in the business world, with all the commitment that this implies ”, he adds.

The process includes more than 200 questions that companies must answer. These are about its culture, its environmental and social practices, the ethics and compliance activities it carries out, governance, diversity, and, finally, the initiatives the company executes to create a robust value chain.

For the world’s leading company, this achievement is the sum of the efforts of all its employees. Therefore, the distinction is not only a reason for satisfaction, but also a recognition to the entire team, which reaffirms its commitment to making the world a better place for everyone.

“For Grupo Bimbo, ethics is much more than a commitment, it is part of the DNA of our company and our people, in the way in which we carry out our activities every day; it is the essence under which every morning we undertake the route that puts us on the path to fulfill our purpose of feeding a better world ”, says Daniel Servitje, president and CEO of Grupo Bimbo.

“Thanks to our more than 135 thousand employees, this recognition is the result of their commitment, and thanks to Ethisphere, we are very honored to receive this recognition for the fifth year in a row,” adds Servitje.

In this year’s edition, The Ethisphere Institute’s list of The World’s Most Ethical Companies includes a total of 135 companies from 22 countries and 47 different industries.
