Last week, eight Coca-Cola trucks were hijacked in Amacuzac, the products and cash were stolen, and the drivers were deprived of their freedom for several hours.
Medina Carvajal confirmed the information to the media. “Unfortunately, due to the security issue (…) which has also had repercussions in several sectors, which is the issue of the closure of several companies.”
The president of CANACINTRA regretted the closure of companies in different states, due to insecurity, and pointed out that it is a national problem, not just a state one.
Medina Carvajal indicated that it is not yet known how many workers are left without jobs and said they will have to speak with FEMSA to obtain the data.
During the last couple of weeks, the massive departure of trucks from the soft drink company could be observed on the roads of Morelos. Videos of the long lines of vehicles have circulated on social networks.
