Tepoztlán, Morelos is a beautiful mountain town located about 1 hour from Mexico City. It has everything from passionfruit mojitos to gorgeous handmade products to crave-worthy Mexican food!

This week, we left Oaxaca City and drove 7 hours to this Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) called Tepoztlán in the Mexican state of Morelos. The small town is at about 5,600 ft (1,700 m) of elevation and surrounded by mountains. It’s known for its prehispanic culture, spiritual healing, handicrafts, historic buildings, and gastronomy.

In today’s Mexico vlog, we tried some of the local cuisine at a bustling market. Then, we walked around the weekend tianguis (pop-up market) where vendors are selling clothes, jewelry, crystals, incense, art, toys, drinks, body products, and more! After Maddie bought some handmade jewelry, we went to the famous Tepoznieves to cool off with some ice cream.

Later on, we try to figure out if there’s really a dry law in effect banning the sales of alcohol during COVID-19. We were really craving one of the refreshing-looking mojitos advertised all over the main street in town. During our hunt, we couldn’t believe how many people were there! It felt like 2019 again where coronavirus didn’t exist! This is definitely where the Mexico City crowd goes to party on the weekends! Finally, we share our thoughts on Tepoztlan, Morelos including the cost, food, and culture.
