Claudia Sheinbaum blames the Morelos prosecutor for insecurity in the state

Claudia Sheinbaum blames the Morelos prosecutor for insecurity and says Governor Cuauhtémoc Blanco is innocent.

Claudia Sheinbaum, candidate and former head of government in Mexico City, revives the conflict with Uriel Carmona, whom she blamed for the insecurity crisis that Morelos is going through.

Claudia Sheinbaum, presidential candidate of the Let’s Keep Making History coalition, blamed the Morelos prosecutor, Uriel Carmona, for the levels of insecurity in the state and downplayed the role that Cuauhtémoc Blanco, the entity’s governor, has had in this issue. and candidate for a multi-member federal deputation for the Morena party.

Night had already fallen, and he was in the final stretch of a four-event tour in Morelos when Claudia Sheinbaum pointed out Uriel Carmona as the main person responsible for the violence in the state. At the same time, she asked people to vote for Morena so that the local Congress could dismiss the prosecutor.

“If there is something in Morelos that has caused violence, it is the Morelos prosecutor, that is why we have to win two-thirds of the local councils, to say goodbye to the Morelos prosecutor and for a prosecutor to arrive to address security issues. that does not hide femicides,” said Claudia Sheinbaum before hundreds of people in Alameda Park, on the borders of Cuernavaca and Jiutepec.

This is how Claudia Sheinbaum revived the conflict that she has had for some time with Uriel Carmona, who was accused by the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office of covering up the femicide of the young Ariadna Fernanda López, found dead on October 31, 2022.

The Morelos prosecutor had first said that Ariadna Fernanda had died from alcohol poisoning, however, later the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that the young woman died from blows to the head and two people were arrested as the probable perpetrators.

Uriel Carmona was also arrested on August 4, 2023, and was admitted to the South Prison, and later transferred to the Altiplano federal prison. However, the Morelos prosecutor was able to leave prison on September 22, 2023, because the state Congress returned the jurisdiction that the Chamber of Deputies, with a majority of Morena, had taken away from him.

For this reason, Sheinbaum called on the people of Morelos to make the federal government’s “plan C” a reality, which consists of winning two-thirds of the federal Congress and also the state Congress.

Claudia Sheinbaum showed her support for Margarita González Sarabia at her press conference and at her rallies in Jojutla, Yautepec, and Alameda Park, which is on the borders of Cuernavaca and Jiutepec.
