The Single Pet Registry in Morelos will be free

The Single Pet Registry (RUM) is an initiative designed to census and carry out a more effective control of companion animals, such as dogs and cats, similar to the way the CURP works for people. This was confirmed by the Secretary of Sustainable Development, Alan Dupré, in response to the doubts expressed about the possible cost of this procedure.

In this regard, the official emphasized that said registry will be completely free and will allow for tracking lost or abandoned animals more efficiently. For example, when registering a pet in the RUM, if it goes missing, an alert will be generated in a certain radius to inform other users of the registry in the area, facilitating its location and safe return to its home.

In addition to contributing to the tracking of pets, the RUM seeks to prevent mistreatment and ensure that companion animals have a safe home. This measure represents a significant advance in the promotion of animal welfare and encourages responsible ownership, highlighting that no tax related to this program will be applied.

Finally, Alan Dupré pointed out that this registry will also allow the organization of sterilization and vaccination campaigns for dogs and cats, especially in areas close to Protected Natural Areas (ANP). These actions will not only benefit pets, but will also contribute to the conservation of biodiversity in these areas, strengthening the relationship between animal care and the environment.
